For our Sales Team based in Brussels, we are looking for a (m/w):

Senior business development manager


In the Belgian market, we are the recognized market leader and a long-standing partner for the majority of the midsize banks. We have the ambition to enlarge our footprint with a specific focus on our digital and operated solutions.

For the Sales Department of Sopra Banking Software BeLux, we are looking for an experienced business development manager. You engage with decision makers of financial institutions, as well business owners as IT stakeholders. You identify DMUs within your target market and establish new relationships. You promote the Sopra Banking Digital and Core Banking Solutions and you maintain client relations by providing support, information and guidance.

The Sopra Banking Software BeLux Sales team is based in Brussels and covers the BeLux market. As banking services start to become offered by Fintech companies, also this particular market segment will be addressed.

Your tasks mainly consist in:

  • Define an acquisition approach for the Belgian market, together with the BeLux sales director.
  • Develop a network of high level business contacts in the financial industry that enables you to engage at C-level.
  • Identify opportunities and DMU’s within banks and financial institutions.
  • Develop these contacts and initiate sales cycles through well targeted approach.
  • Guide the sales process internally in order to achieve an optimal fit between customer needs and our solutions.
  • Contribute to the team target by accomplishing relevant results;
  • Support marketing with content for acquisition campaigns;


  • You have a good understanding of the finance industry and you have about 10 – 15 years experience with sales in this industry;
  • You have a track record in C-level sales;
  • You have at least 5 years experience in software product selling; experience in sales of digital solutions is a plus as well as a broad experience in the banking industry.
  • An existing contact network in the Belgian banking market is considered as a plus;
  • You have experience in negotiating complex software contracts and related packages such as implementation projects, maintenance & support, training, …
  • You combine the eagerness for selling with the patience of guiding through a long sales cycle;
  • You have an affinity with digital and innovative insights that will change the banking scene;
  • You are willing to attend trade exhibitions, conferences and meetings of our industry;
  • You possess good reporting and presentation skills;
  • You are a team player and you are eager to take initiative;
  • You are client-oriented and open to change;
  • You are result-oriented and a quick learner;
  • You have a high energy level and you are highly motivated to open new doors;
